Over the last couple of months, apart from navigating this new reality as everyone else, I’ve been putting together my business.
For the ones close to me they will know that 3 years ago I left my 9-5 job as a Managing Partner in a consultancy to dedicate more time for the kids and to reconnect with my authentic self. It was nothing like what I had pictured – plenty of time to dedicate to figure myself up all over again, time to study and to visit all the museums around me. Nope. It was rather like opening a big bag with mixed pieces from various puzzles and sorting it out.
There was doubt, there was fear, and there was overwhelm, constantly. BUT, and that is a big but, there was gratitude. The kind of gratitude we feel when we know, deep inside, that we are on a hell of a messy but damn right track to redefining ourselves. There was excitement for taking the leap and believing if everything failed, I had taken the chance and done the required work.
There was coaching, there were inuuuumerous coffees with like minded people and incredible friends that also happen to be mentors (Yes, I know… I’m very lucky in this department!).
In these 3 years, I had many planned goals and milestones that kept being pushed further by… well… life. Kids, Brexit, move to a new country, etc. The list is long.
So when the pandemic happened I had this brief moment of “not again…”. I saw the story repeating itself once more and the goals being pushed further down the line. And then I thought once more… NOT AGAIN.
Strangely, it was then that the puzzles were clearly separated and I could see the result of this reinvention. There was no magic to it, but I had to hit the wall again to define that there is no more delay. No more life happening in between. It is now and onwards. Me showing up authentically for the work I do best and fits my purpose.
So here I am, to share with you my first step on my business journey.
A new channel to share the 1 or 2 things I know about branding and how it is F****** POWERFUL for people that are reinventing their future. Be it for that business idea you have decided to invest your time and money on, for that project that you know it really matters and it needs a strong voice, or be it for YOU reinventing yourself.
What about you? Do you recognise yourself in any of those stages of the ride?
